Turning off Your Water Supply on Iria V 04/08/16
When these villas were first built there seems to be an historic problem with a particular joint in the piping for the water supply.
Starting about 8 years ago and up until only the last month this joint in quite a lot of villas has split. This joint is located buried in the wall in the wardrobe of the downstairs main bedroom. It would be a slow leak and if not discovered can cause a lot of damage. Prior cases have had wardrobe doors warp, cabinets within wardrobe covered in mould, kitchens flooded, wet walls in the bedroom and other various problems.
Please ensure you turn your water supply off if you are leaving your villa unattended.
Should anyone have this problem, we want you to be aware that the urbanisation community insurance was amended 5 years ago in order to cover us for this kind of incident.
Mapfre is the agent for our insurance and we have had marvellous reports from our residents who have had to deal with them regarding this problem.
If you need help, please see Mary Crawford (President) at number 17 or Sheila Hassall (Vice President) at number 49.
You will require the community insurance policy number when you speak to Mapfre. We do not publish this because we try to keep track of these problems so we can monitor the service we receive.
